The Government Relations Intern will give a very broad stroke view of STCU’s Community Relations department home to our Government and Public Affairs work and project support.  Responsibilities will include assisting the Community Relations team in managing and analyzing policy issues for Washington and Idaho. Duties include; compiling and summarizing material on emerging and existing public policy as it pertains to credit unions and other related matters, assisting in coordination of legislative and hike the hill visits and supporting CR team on community projects.

This position can be fully remote, hybrid, or in-person (Liberty Lake, WA). Qualified intern candidates will live/work in Eastern or Central Washington or Northern Idaho.

Duration: September 2023 – May 2024, with the possibility of extension

Qualifications

Required

  • Candidate needs to be an enrolled college student for the entirety of the internship and seeking credits, through Spring 2024 (Masters students ok).

The Moderate Writer Intern contributes to ONC’s mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by completing essential tasks in the Core Content Department. The Moderate Writer Intern will focus on writing political content for ONC, including but not necessarily limited to high-quality OpEds and Policy Proposals for ONC’s website. Though Writers will be responsible for producing their own content, the process will be very collaborative, with lots of political discussion in a respectful, nonpartisan environment. Exceptional writers may be given the opportunity to help write a book that will be published by ONC. In addition to ensuring that diverse content appears on the site, this intern will participate in podcasts, events, and other assignments as needed. Furthermore, this intern must ensure that ONC's commitment to nonpartisanship, ideological diversity, and civil debate is evident in all published work. The Core Content Writers will consist of conservative, progressive, and moderate writers, and the team will continue to focus on our 8 policy areas, Governance, Economics, Infrastructure, Healthcare, Foreign Policy and Defense, Justice and Public Safety, Social Issues, and Science, Environment and Technology. This intern must have interest and experience in at least one of these areas, preferably two or three. The Core Content Department will meet on Friday’s at 6:30pm (EST) with all writers, mentors, the Core Content Team Lead, and the Managing Editor. Lastly, Applicants must submit a writing sample with their application.

This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication. This intern must commit to at least the end of the Fall semester (December 16th, 2023). However, many people choose to extend their internship past the amount of time they initially committed to, provided their performance meets the required standards.

For candidates in Tier 2 cities, the base salary range for this position is $181,500 - 272,500.

Our Head of Sales will sit on our leadership team and will initially report to the CEO.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver meaningful YoY ARR and volume growth by expanding our mid-market and enterprise customer sets
  • Drive repeatable growth: Build an efficient, scalable enterprise sales motion and sales processes to expand our pipeline and consistently close deals
  • Help us stay differentiated: Help shape our product roadmap and communicate learnings from the field to the rest of our organization
  • Be a thought leader: Develop strong opinions on our strengths and weaknesses and support our culture of customer centricity
  • Be data-driven: Own sales metrics and delivering sales execution plans, including revenue forecasts, headcount planning, and operating costs, in partnership with Finance and RevOps
  • Team building: Help hire, train, and coach the BDR and AE teams, including around outreach, ABM, qualification, demos, negotiation, and closing
  • Partner with marketing: Help drive customer targeting, messaging, outbound campaigns, and optimizing conversion rates at every stage of the funnel

Qualifications:

  • Experience in building and leading high-performing enterprise sales teams in high-growth environments (Series B and beyond), ideally with meaningful experience selling to financial services, payments and/or fintech companies
  • Success in building and scaling enterprise sales infrastructure and operations in high-growth environments (lead generation programs; pipeline management; contract development; comp plans)
  • Experience with complex, technical B2B sales to startups and enterprises
  • Operational and analytical rigor, including experience developing metrics and quotas, pipeline forecasts, and holding teams accountable
  • A great communicator, and someone who understands the need to maintain high team standards for communication
  • Inspirational and empathetic leader who is passionate about career development and building a high performance culture
  • A player/coach who is willing to get into the trenches with team members to uplevel current processes
