• Copy of passport
• Copy of passport photo
• Previous Taiwanese visa and residence permit (if available)
• Proof of employment (required documents depend on your occupation).
• Proof of employment in one of 8 fields: architecture, culture and arts, economics, education, finance, law, national defense, science and technology or sports.
• Proof of income (bank statement, pay slip, etc.). If you are not an employee in one of the 8 fields, you must have a monthly income of $5700.

Step-by-step guide to get Taiwan Digital Nomad visa

If you have decided to travel to Taiwan as a digital nomad, you must apply online through the official Taiwan Employment "Gold Card" website. Note that if you are from Hong Kong and Macau, you have a different application process.

After logging in, start filling out the application:

1. Select "Self-application"
2. Then "Apply by the Employer" or "Apply by Agent" to authorize accordingly
3. After submitting the online application, the system will email you a 12-digit application number.
4. Pay the fees. Log into your account and click on the "online payment" tab. You can choose from six different payment methods. Visa fees range from $100 to $310, depending on your citizenship and length of stay. The registration fee is non-refundable.
5. Receive Confirmation. Once you complete the application, you will receive a confirmation email from the platform. Your application process has started.
6. Submit your passport for verification. If your application has been approved and qualified, you will receive an email notification asking you to bring your passport for verification. Your passport will be verified by the Bureau of Consular Affairs. Once verified, you will receive an email stating that your passport has been approved and your gold card application has been processed. This process may take a week.
7. Receive your Gold Card. Once your application has been approved, you will receive an email notifying you that you can receive your Gold Card.
