- Application form completed and signed by the applicant

- Medical insurance
- Bank statement for the year, which is issued by a financial institution and shows an inflow of $3,000 per month from sources outside of Costa Rica

Step-by-step guide to get Costa Rica Digital Nomad Visa
- Register on the platform. Required to provide consent for data processing.
- Submit an application. You can submit the application either online or in person. It will be easier online on the same site where you have already registered.
- Wait for the decision. The responsible authorities must notify you of their decision within 15 calendar days of the application.
- Make an appointment. If the decision is positive, the applicant has 3 months to receive the final accredited document. To do so, make an appointment by calling 1311 or 800-227-2482.
- Show up for the appointment. You will need to bring all documents and receipts for all state fees.
- Extend your visa. To renew your visa for a 2nd year, you must stay in Costa Rica for at least 180 days, plus provide all documents.
The fee for this visa is $100 and must be paid at the Bank of Costa Rica prior to application. Translation of documents is an additional fee, and the official registration of documents costs $90. Obtaining a residency permit costs $50, and an additional $3.75 dollars for each page of documents filed. This is to cover the cost of the official registration of documents.
