PYTHON DEVELOPER - Job Description

We are building a complex, high-load system based on a microservice architecture, where every component plays a critical role. This is not a legacy support project โ€” it's about continuous development of new modules and optimization of existing ones.

Our teams are small and focused โ€” typically 4โ€“6 engineers. Each team has its own area of responsibility and a unique set of challenges.

  • Build End-to-End. Build and iterate on Egbe's core autonomous AI system โ€” from backend infrastructure to LLM pipelines and product logic.โ€
  • Ship From Ideas. Take a high-level goal or an early idea and independently turn it into a working, shipped feature.โ€
  • Act As a Founder. Act as a technical thinking partner โ€” ask the right questions, shape the solution, own the outcome.โ€
  • Prototype & Validate. Rapidly prototype and validate ideas, then improve what works.โ€
  • Evaluate and Improve Quality. Evaluate and improve LLM output quality systematically โ€” measure and optimize results.

What we're looking for

  • Software Engineering Background. Strong backend software engineering โ€” you've built and shipped real products end-to-end.โ€
  • AI / LLM Experience. Hands-on experience with LLMs, agents, tools, evals and RAG.โ€
  • Product Mindset. You can take an abstract idea from a non-technical founder and figure out what to build and how.โ€
  • Comfort With Ambiguity. You don't need a detailed task description to get started; you define it yourself.โ€
  • Would be a plus: startup or founding experience, high-load backend or API architecture, or interest in building your own product.

Requirements

  • Understanding of payment processes: deposits, withdrawals, PSPs, crypto/fiat;
  • Experience in payments, billing, anti-fraud, fintech, or operational support;
  • Analytical thinking and data skills;
  • Ability to make decisions on each case and take responsibility for them;
  • Ability to work under high pressure;
  • Ability to work shifts, including night shifts;
  • At least one year of experience in payments, fintech, iGaming, or related high-risk projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Manual processing of withdrawal requests;
  • Analysis of deposits and unsuccessful transactions;
  • Investigation of suspicious and abnormal transactions;
  • Detection and formation of fraud patterns;
  • Analysis of user behavior;
  • Verification of payment details;
  • Processing refunds and erroneous credits;
  • Analyzing PSP technical statuses;
  • Interacting with L1 support on transaction issues;
  • Maintaining transaction logs and recording decisions.

Desirable

  • Experience in iGaming / gambling / crypto / high-risk projects;
  • Experience working with multiple PSPs;
  • Participation in building or improving anti-fraud processes;
  • Experience with manual withdrawals and complex cases.
