About your role

We are seeking a lead React.js frontend developer to join our team and help us build our sophisticated products. In this role, you will be primary in charge of all ongoing frontend development activities and responsible for building, delivering and maintaining a React-based Single Page Application that will communicate to the backend system of our main product via its HTTP APIs.

One of your responsibilities, and the 1st big task to start with, will be management, control, tech advising and even direct participation in building our own Design System from the ground up, with support of our UX/UI designer. As a result, together with other frontend developers, you should deliver and maintain a number of core React.js components that will serve as frontend building blocks of our SPAs.

Tasks

Behind every product stands a strong analytics team, but interaction won't be limited to within it. We are looking for a talented Middle or Senior PHP Developer to join us in our office in Cyprus or remotely.

Tech stack: PHP 8.2+, Symfony 6.4+, PHPUnit, Temporal, RoadRunner, PostgreSQL, Swagger/OpenApi, Docker, Composer, GitLab CI

Responsibilities:

• Development and maintenance of the server-side of a fintech product
• Development of libraries
• Integration with various external systems
• Service optimization for high-load scenarios

Key competencies:

• 3+ years of commercial PHP development experience
• Experience working on fintech projects
• Strong knowledge of OOP and practical application of design patterns
• Experience in designing high-load systems
• Experience with PHP-based MVC frameworks
• Code optimization experience and working with various data stores (relational databases, key-value stores)
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Docker and Event Sourcing
• Experience with columnar databases

About the role

As a Transaction Monitoring Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing transactions and other aspects of customer activity on Finom platform to detect any suspicious patterns, conduct investigations and rapidly escalate them to prevent possible fraud/money laundering attempts. You will also take active part in defining the requirements, implementation and improvement of internal procedures to make Finom’s systems and processes fraud-proof.

What you will be doing

• Proactively conduct thorough investigations of a wide variety of red flags in customer activity (transactional, KYC, and digital profiles);
• Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders on compliance-related questions;
• Assist in drafting, testing and reviewing system requirements for customer monitoring, as well as procedures and manuals within the compliance department;
• Act as 2nd line of support for payment related queries of end-customers;
• Initiate and assume responsibility for ad hoc project work within the department;
• Performing other duties as reasonably required for the operational efficiency of Finom (pro-actively deemed necessary by the employee) or/and as communicated by the manager.

Who you are

• 2+ year of proven experience in a regulated financial institution in similar roles (KYC/CDD/ Transaction monitoring, AML analysts, anti-fraud team, etc.);
• Knowledge in the AML domain (AML regulations, fraud typologies);
• Detail-orientated and highly motivated self-starter;
• Critical and analytical thinking;
• Start-up oriented, proactive, result-driven, self-motivated and capable of working under own initiative and little supervision.

Nice to have:

• French, Italian, German or Dutch - professional working proficiency will be a strong plus but not a precondition.
